Hi list,
Has anyone attempted to install a Garmin yaw servo using the Van's RV-14 yaw servo mounting kit? Trying to decide whether to go that route or spring for the $550 Garmin kit. I'm working on a flying airplane, so all fun will be had on hands and knees in the tailcone!

I used the Van's kit with a Dynon servo...should make no difference in how the bracket mounts to the airframe. Required minor slotting of two holes on the bracket. The rest was just a bolt it together. Quote: | Sent from my TRS-80 Model 100 |

I installed the Van's yaw damper kit for Skyview ($160), which does not come with the tiller arm/bow (Garmin may call it a hoop) that connects the rudder cables to the servo. That is another $160 from Dynon. I also read on VAF that Garmin does not sell the hoop separately, only in their $550 kit, although Stein apparently had some hoops in stock.
Someone posted a template to make your own hoop on VAF here: https://vansairforce.net/community/showthread.php?t=153870&page=6
You would still need to buy the Van's yaw damper mount.
