Getting ready to send my high time Rotax 582 off to Rotax Rick for an overhaul, and am debating whether to keep it stock or go with his RAVE valve setup, which supposedly gives another ten HP at full throttle, plus better fuel economy at cruise.

Question: have any of you folks used this and how do you like it?

Not interested in comments on Rick, his competence, etc - strictly on feedback concerning the RAVE setup.

I like my takeoff rpm to be around 6300-6500 max, and cruise at ~ 5500, Kolb MKIII. Will the RAVE system be compatible within these parameters? Or does it work best at a higher RPM outside of how I like to run my engine?
