If it was me, I would treat the engine as a dry engine and pre oil the system. Also, the oil is draining due to a check valve that is most likely dirty, the oil pump does not need to be changed for this reason only. I found mine with a bit of crud in it... I cleaned it and hopefully MMO will keep it clean. Not sure where the crud comes from.
Yes oil change, check all of your screens like you stated. And pre-lube to be on the safe side. Pull through a lot. Good Luck. Enjoy the bird.....

I have been doing some airframe work and the engine hasn't run for 3 months. All oil from the tank seems to have drained from the oil tank via intake drain and exhaust (will replace the oil pump eventually). Do I need to pre-oil the cylinders as prescribed in the Russian manual? Was thinking of treating it like an oil change and clean the screens too. Anytning else?

What you don't say is whether you had done anything to conserve the engine during these three months. If you are not using an M 14 for over a month, it really is extremely prudent to firstly squirt preservation oil into all the cylinders, and then put desiccant plugs to replace one of the rows of sparking plugs. But if you haven't done that, then you should use engine oil squirted into the cylinders; turn the engine thoroughly first by hand and then, with the sparking plugs still out on the starting system. And I would suggest to remove the three inlet manifold drain plugs – if you don't have a manifold oil drain system. And keep turning the engine until all oil has come out of the cylinders – if you've lost (say) 10 L from the oil tank, it clearly is somewhere in the engine, and you need to make sure it is not going to go into the cylinders before starting!

Thanks for your advice, Mark. How did you clean your oil pump valve?

Thanks for the advice, Richard. The oil just drained into the catch pans below. It's not in the engine anymore, aside from whatever is left in the sump.
How much oil should I squirt into the cylinders? I assume removing just the front or rear plugs is fine, or do I need to pull all of them out?

No need to remove all the plugs – simply one row. And in terms of the oil, it would be good idea to have a syringe – part of the original engine toolkit – with which you can spray oil in small amounts but all around the cylinder just from one plughole. But to emphasise what I wrote below, you should keep turning the prop until all oil has stopped coming out of exhaust/plug holes/intake tube drains.
