Joe,
What a great idea! Both the circuit, and the help for Matt.
Just made my contribution to the Matronics lists. I always contribute every year during the fundraiser, but this will be an extra one.
Thanks!

I made a low voltage warning LED light for the fun of it. I don't need it
because my EFIS has that feature built in. The yellow LED has a narrow
beam, thus it should be mounted so that it is aimed directly towards the
pilot's eyes. The LED does NOT flash, but should get the pilot's attention if
aimed at the pilots eyes. The LED comes on when the voltage drops to
about 13 volts. The voltage of a lead acid battery with a load on it will drop
below 13 within a few seconds of charging system failure. The electronic
components are surface mounted with E-6000 adhesive to a perf board 24 x
44 millimeters. There are no conductors on the other side of the perf board.
So the board can be mounted to a conductive surface if desired. Two pairs of
wires exit the circuit board. One pair of wires needs to be connected to a
fused voltage source. The LED is already connected to the other pair of
wires. The LED can be inserted into a 3/16" hole drilled into the instrument
panel and glued in place with E-6000.
I will give the warning light free of charge to someone who donates to
Matronics. https://matronics.com/contribution/
Oh, and one other condition: After installation, Post a review on the AeroElectric
list telling how you like it.
