Hi Everybody....

I am at the firewall forward stage of my Europa classic build , and its  going  ok.

But could do with a little help with the radiator hose  placement . If anybody as photos of the routing of the hoses I would be grateful . I think I see how it goes but a little reassurance would be nice .

The lower hoses interconnect left and right cores; it runs under the front gearbox bearing flange. Use high quality hose clamps and retention them when everything is at operating temperature and the motor is switched off.



The cores will support themselves with the lower cowl removed; the oil cooler may need zip ties until the cowl is refitted; i’ve found supporting the lower cowl on an upturned chair while refitting the oil cooler to it to be very helpful.

Hi Darran,

Depending on how old your motor is you may wish to consider mounting the right radiator as far outboard as you can as replacement fuel pumps are longer than the older model and it will have to be replaced at some time.

I think my engine as the longer fuel pump. But thanks for the pointing it out to me , I am always grateful for advise . I will add a photo later. I did find it a bit of a struggle  fitting the Starboard radiator  due fuel pump and the exhaust bend , which does seem very close ..

The earlier model fuel pumps have pressed together bodies; later are screwed together and have an oil drain on the underside of the pushrod body; attached picture is of later model fitted. The pictures above show the earlier style pump.

Fwiw, updating my fuel pump required getting the rad intake welded to modify its angle to clear.

wrt to the pics, all I can say is i have more clearance in my classic.



also, keep in mind that the engine will move forward slightly with a loaded prop.
