Oil in upper cylinder exhaust port?

I pulled the exhaust pipes to replace the clamps and there was some oil in the upper cylinder exhaust ports. Another engine I worked on did not have oil there and it shot out less or very little oil on the cowl and through the exhaust donuts.



Is this normal? Is it an issue with valve guides/seals?

Any way to reduce it other than overhaul?
