We flew to International Peace Garden in North Dakota (at the North Dakota - Manitoba border). We had planned to camp overnight, but food wasn't available. The return trip was across northern MN and WI. Visited Heather's Mom in Appleton, WI. Total trip was about 1500 NM (14 hours tach time), mostly flown over three days.

It's great to hear about someone using their Europa for what it was designed for, I hope it was a good time Jim.
Here in Edmonton I installed the Beringer wheel and brake assbly as well as the slightly lighter swing arm and new dampers. Next task is complete the Nigel Graham mod on my stabilators...then repair the leaking fuel tank. Dwayne

It was Pet Z who asked if the 800-6 Airtrac was a good fit on the Europa. Some said not good but here are a few photos of my installation and clearance looks just fine. 1/2" taller than a 700-6 Airtrac and 1" wider. Note the Beringer brake disk is more than twice as thick as the stock Europa disk, as well two piston caliper. Very nice brake

Looks the goods on the maingear upgrade... did you happen to weigh the new wheel before fitting? The factory europa unit weighs a ton!! Am thinking of fitting this mod...

Hello to those who want details of the weight..19.99Lbs. 9.07 Kg. for the wheel tire and all brake parts bolts included. One could save .7 Lbs with a Airtrac 700-6 tire. This weight from this digital luggage scale was double checked with digital bathroom scale and both agree.
The 1 1/4" holes in the swingarm flange saved 1 1/4 lbs. a few holes in the damper bracket saved 1/2 lbs. The new damper pair save .9 lbs. I may go back to the factory damper as mine both work though one seeped a little oil. Will decide if the new dampers please me.

To those who feel taking material from these components is compromising the safety of the aircraft, Manfred Jann took far more out of his landing gear and did all the stress calculations getting proving compliance with FAA certification standards and winning approval in Germany.
He had 48 A4 size pages of hand written calculations of which I have two.
Walter Binder was first to lighten the landing gear, also from Germany. I'm not blazing new trails.

Thanks greatly for those weight/mass details; its a big help on decision making on whether to design & manufacture or buy off the shelf!!
Regarding lightening the maingear arm - this component has undergone inhouse analysis and entered into the top secret, highly classified and encrypted "Obsidian Files" - reverse CAD modeling of this component and applying a 6G vertical and combined additionally 3G lateral force through Finite Analysis did not exceed ultimate stress/strain limitations for 6061-T6 billet material; it should be noted that areas in proximity to the arm forgings, although maintaining stress/strain integrity are probably best left unaltered as this area is the section most likely to distort during extreme load.

Been arriving at the field each day this week at sparrows fart for circuit practice and beginning to explore flight performance a bit deeper now that all post-purchase safety and quality inspections are completed.... cold thick air until 08.00hrs all week.
Launched 181 into the 15C sky this morning and decided to see how good it can really climb... 1600fpm at 80kt and 5000rpm constant from 80hp 912... bloody beast; killer whale!! Bought the right machine... 😊😂😂
