It seems the all the new battery minders do not include an adapter for a cigar plug as I have in my soon to be sold RV6A.

Any recommendations?

1. For type of maintainer?

2. To modify my old plug in adapter by stripping wires and putting attachments for the clip on features they all possess?

Thanks to all,

I've had great results with an earlier version of this maintainer. I attached the eyelet adapter to the battery & affixed the other end to the engine mount just inside the oil filler door in my cowling. I leave it plugged in whenever the plane is in the hangar.

Here's a less expensive, lower-capacity version that should be adequate for most of the batteries in our OBAM planes:

Keep in mind that many of the battery maintainers draw a small amount of current if connected to the battery and NOT plugged into AC.  Over time, if permanently attached to the battery, they will draw the battery down.

The part that is permanently attached is just two wires that go from the battery posts to a connector inside the oil filler door.  It's not draining the battery.  The maintainer stays in the hangar & is always plugged in to an outlet. It's never connected to the battery unless also plugged in & operating.

The point about an "unplugged" maintainer is sometimes more relevant than you expect.  We had a brief power outage at my hangar a few months back but the power event was such that *all* of the GFIs in my hangars popped.  Unfortunately, I didn't realize this till after all the food in the fridge spoiled and the battery I had on a maintainer was ruined.
