I purchased the entire nose gear assembly. Basically plug and play.  Slide the large pin out of the upper fork, disconnected the drag link, put the new unit on, re-attached the drag link, installed the tire, did a gear retraction test and taxied straight for the first time in 5 years.

I fought this same issue for year. Thought is was a dragging brake, replaced the
upper bushings. Measured alignment of main gear. Adjusted the dampner arm.
Finally gave up, bought a new complete assembly from Doug Sap at the time and it
fixed it. Don't ask me what the difference was between then the two assemblies.
Im.not saying this is the way to go but someone way smarter than me might
know a way to address this. I went down the same hole. Good luck
