Does anyone know if there is a way of adjusting the nose strut for straight tracking ? My CJ pulls to the right and I’m wondering if it’s got anything to do with : strut pressure / centreing cam or some other adjustment ? I thought it might be as the LH strut was a bit soft but having gassed that up to about 50 it actually seems to be a bit worse. So , maybe the RHS one needs more gas ? Any hints fellow gurus ??

I fought this same issue for year. Thought is was a dragging brake, replaced the upper bushings. Measured alignment of main gear. Adjusted the dampner arm.
Finally gave up, bought a new complete assembly from Doug Sap at the time and it fixed it. Don't ask me what the difference was between then the two assemblies. Im.not saying this is the way to go but someone way smarter than me might know a way to address this. I went down the same hole. Good luck

I purchase the entire nosegear strut assembly complete. All I had to do is remove the large pin holding the nose strut near the lower firewall, lower the unit, reinstall the new assembly and put the tire back on.

Took less than an hour by myself.

It’s done it ever since this ( fairly recent ) new strut was put in . I have a few spare ones in garage so might pull one apart to see if there is an adjustment for centre. Might be really simple .. seems to track straight when powered up on brakes before takeoff and nose is compressed a little so Maybe that’s the clue (?)

The only centering device I see is on the front strut. But this is only effective at full extension when landing. So when you see a sideways tendency this will have other causes - like a brake dragging or uneven air fill in tires. The photo is a 18 T part.
