Completed the CAD model of the instrument panel this morning at sunrise after yesterday's tuning session; lots of walking between the cockpit and laptop with a ruler pencil paper and scissors then correlating all the data points into flowing form... It has easily been the most challenging part to get correct; more complex than it looks, lots of compound organic surfaces fillets and draft angles... feels good to finally have it done n dusted!

If you’re not planning on fitting the fuel sight gauge (or are planning to fit it between the seats, as many of us have done) you can fill in that part of the panel to make more useful space…

Clever idea above for extra panel space; one of the reasons 181 is getting a couple of AV-30's...
Crap flying conditions this week, so lots more time at the screen...
Finishing off the interior for the CAD model; some interior ribs and ancillary component details to add next, then onto doors and glazing before coming back to finalise the instrument panel at the firewall interface; its looking great!
From a design perspective the more this aircraft get studied the better it shows itself to be; the design team did a first class job using surface forming to provide rigidity.
