Hello Europa Group,
I am reaching out to see if a group member has available, as a spare part, the right front side header exhaust tube assembly (Cylinder #1)?
A few days back, I discovered that it sheared right through at the mounting clamp, after I smelled some exhaust fumes. Glad I checked right away. The entire assembly, though, still held the broken exhaust pipe perfectly in position, preventing most of the hot gases hitting the nearby classic right radiator. Lucky.
Now I try to get lucky finding someone who might have this part and willing to part with it. I am also considering buying the entire double silencer exhaust if in new, not yet installed condition.
Any leads?
Thank you very much,
Christoph Both

Weld it. You won't be the first to have it welded. When I had exactly your kind of exhaust system, it cracked in that location more than once, so I just paid for the services of a good welder.
Furthermore since CKT in the UK went out of business after making a different Europa specific exhaust for several years, owners will have little choice but to weld. Installing the Rotax "standard" exhaust won't be an option for many, due to space constraints underneath the engine.
If the authorities balk at welding, and they do, then several aircraft could end up being grounded pending a redesign of the exhaust system. IMHO if you have a good quality electronic CO detector alarm in the cockpit and regularly check for exhaust cracks, then the risk becomes almost negligible.
