Yes its turning out to be a good purchase. Bit more work than expected to bring it up to scratch, but so far it is measuring up very well. It will be a stop gap for 181 while the 912iS gets overhauled and prepped for installation.

Thanks Area-51. I had no ideal it was such a labor intensive endeavor. I really thought you blasted the components with walnut shells or the like. The end result does truly look great!

Walnut shell blasting would be a lot easier but would require adaptors and a walnut blaster. Or vapor blaster tank for cylinder heads. I am unable to trust the engine rebuilders against dropping stuff and damaging the sealing surface; so i do the cleaning and lapping myself. If i start doing more engines will probably invest in much high end laboratory equipment. 😂😂😂
