Hi Ron,
That’s a good point, the set-up dimensions for a new block are given in the manual (from memory 79mm) but no wear limit. From the dimension you gave you are a good way below that.
I have a 700-6-6 Air Trac tyre fitted and with a new block there is nearly 1” between the top of the tyre and the fuselage. That reduces over time as the block ages. The current block is now about 8 years old and there is still about 3/8” of daylight between tyre and fuselage.
If you want to get a better feel for the situation you could lift the tail to put the aircraft in the flying attitude and then measure the ground clearance between the propeller/ground.

Hi Group
What is the acceptable distance between the upper and lower compression plates
for the black rubber shock absorber before replacement is necessary sitting on
main gear with wings on?
I have a XS Mono with 914.
Mine looks a little bulgy at 2.3"
Thx.
Ron P.
