I am lefthanded, my 701 has the normal center stick and I like it very much.

Is easy to take notes in the lap board and keep the hand in the stick and use the PTT.

Got my training in a 152 (almost at the same time) and never noticed any diference.

What was more dificult in my case, was the transition with the feet. I used to fly weight shift trikes and the ground steering is oposite.
Kind of fun watching my instructor face when I pushed the wrong pedal for a fraction of a second.

Now is natural, havent flown a trike since I fly the 701, realy love it... So go for it, is a very simple to built system, light and the plane is very easy to fly. just a little practice will make you feel natural realy soon.

Saludos
Gary Gower.
George, Welcome to the group as a poster. Lots of good stuff here.
ALL my previous airplanes (RV, Glasair, 180, Pacer, Seabee, Lake)have been flown with the left hand and throttle in the right EXCEPT my current one which is a Champ, after a hundred hours I'm getting comfortable with it but my 701 will have a version of the Tailwinds stick, basically an extension of the Y that comes over the right leg and down in the center, might make it removable. I even thought of flying from the right seat which is still an option. I'm left handed so maybe that's why I still have trouble flying with the "wrong" hand.

I have been following the list for about a year. During this time I have
picked up a lot of help from all the postings. Thought it was about time I
"officially" joined the group.

I am concerned about getting used to the central "Y" stick. Getting used to a
swap of my yoke and throttle hands does give me some concern. Maybe someone
out there can set me at ease on this one. Would consider dual sticks if I
could find something that looked really good. I know there are a couple out
there that have been successful, but so far I have not seen We have the perfect Group for you. Check out the handy changes to Yahoo! Groups.
[b]
