As you said, I can't get a large enough clamp in to place to keep the skin
tight to the backing structure to prevent the chips from dropping between.
I have chip chaser but it is too thick. I am thinking of purchasing some
long chisel shaped X-acto blades and thinning then down with a sander so
they will go between the skin and the supporting structure. I should be able
to push them out from under the skin/longeron space.
Other ideas welcome.

John,
I use a chip chaser, I thought it was a waste of $10 originally but it does
work well. Even better is to prevent the chips in the first place. I mask
off any cracks and such when possible to prevent them from dropping in in
the first place...not always an option though.
