Not sure how the UK handles it, but in the US it is only certified in the
Experimental category.

The M14P was never even "certified" under Russian Civilian rules. It is not
JAA certified. It is an EXPERIMENTAL engine by all western rules. It is
sometimes "certified " as part of an airframe, but not on its own.

No. The Westernized 52 is still experimental. I was thinking along the lines
of how the AI-14 is certified as part of the Wilga.

O.K. I think its unfortunate that such a great engine wasn't made available to other airframe manufacturers outside of the experimental category. Thems the brakes.
