One of our customers sent me this today

By the way, I did a climb yesterday to see how high it would go. It got to
18,600 feet (corrected for QNH, FL 180) before I got bored as, by that time,
it was down to 200 fpm and, given more time, might have got a smidgeon
higher. It passed the 500 fpm point at about 15,500. It still (at 18,000)
flew quite nicely, as you would expect, as deterioration doesn't happen much
below 30,000 or so on the only aeroplane which I have taken to that sort of
height (maxed out at 35,000). We need 2-speed superchargers!

It was with a 400hp engine and standard V530 prop.
I took a standard Yak 50 to 19,000 ft, it was still climbing at 500fpm but I
was concerned regarding the alt with no oxy. This took exactly 20 mins. I
think with longer prop blades and some slip on glass wing tips we could get
a 430hp to over 30,000 ft no problems.. .
