Hello,
I am looking for some help identifying a part.
In the filter airbox kit there are 5 filter retainer clips part number VA-131-D. These clips hold the filter to the oval shape inside the airbox. Looking at the drawing and directions I believe these parts are fabricated from a piece of supplied angle. My paperwork shows that I inventoried this part last year, but I cannot locate it now.
Does anyone know what type of angle Vans supplied for this?
Thankyou,
Tom,
RV-9A, getting close. Ohio

Hey Tom, The RV10 kit comes with the VA-131D retainers punched from a piece of aluminum stock....just separate, trim, sand the edges then paint or powdercoat. Just grab a piece of angle from your scrap bin and whip out a few retainers....won't take more than 5 minutes :^). If you want to nail it down look on the plans to see the call out.....maybe about .063 stock and 3/4 x 3/4 IIRC...then again you could easily get by with some of that .032 cheap stuff that comes with the kit (I think the RV10 retainers were .040ish)......I've made 5 or 6 airboxes now and I'm sure either will work.

Sounds like your getting to put some air under the wings!
