After replacing my GSC Prop with an IvoProp Here are a few numbers for comparison. I have a Kitfox Speedster with a 912 UL (80hp). These aren't strict test condition numbers but they are close...

Conditions: temp-50F Wind<5knots Takeoff weight-appx 920lbs

68" GSC Prop: Takeoff- 300 to 350 feet
Best climb- 900'/min
Max cruise- 108 mph

70" IvoProp Ultralight 3 blade set for cruise:
Takeoff- 250 feet
Best climb- 1200'/min
Max cruise- 120mph

Same IvoProp set for climb:
Takeoff- 200 feet
Best Climb- about 1500'/min
Max cruise- 110mph

-50F is very cold. Wink

Did you have the same WOT RPM so you don't compeer apples with pears.

Dave got 102 with Warp and 104 with GSC but a little colder giving 2 HP or so more explaining one (1) MPH

That's weird, I copied and pasted the specs and they didn't come through on the email just like the original.

I'm actually working off of the forums.matronics.com site and not the list site. I guess some of the data don't translate. Try this link...

Jan...Maine is cold but not that bad yet. +50. Laughing

The engine rpm for the GSC and Ivo set for cruise were about the same: 4900 static and 5500 cruise.

Got the figures. thanks

They are well ahead of what I'm getting around the same weight on Aerocet
straight floats. I actually haven't done any measurements on take off
distance but the times are around 8 to 10 seconds.
My climb out is initially around 1000fpm (at) 6800rpm.

I cruise at around 6000 to 6200 rpm and the ASI reads around 75 mph GPS
readings average out to around 100mph.

I also changed from a GSC 68" prop to an Ivo in flight adjustable. I found
the performance to be improved but the biggest change is the Ivo is lot
smoother. In fine pitch ( take off ) the Ivo doesn't ingest as much water
as the GSC there fore doesn't have the same problems with water pitting.
One thing that boosted my overall performance was the installation of a Tiny
Tach. The original Kitfox tach was so far out to lunch I doubt it will ever
come back. I'm considering removing it.

I run an IVO Medium on my 912S powered KF IV. If you want to get an idea of performance off the water...check out this google video showing a landing/takeoff sequence. I have the prop pitched for 100 MPH cruise...and I did not yank or flap it off the water. I can get off much quicker than this if I put my mind to it.
