- The lesson to be learnt here is that an inexperienced pilot was being checked out by an experienced one. The undercarriage was not lowered and the aircraft began to hit the runway, inevitably smashing the propeller.
- The error was then to open up and attempt to take off, although there was quite a lot of open ground ahead.
- In the event the aircraft just got airborne but crashed into a wood.
- There was some relatively minor injury to the front seat pilot (being checked out) but had they gone straight into one of the trees, the result could have been far more serious.
