A question for you all. Is there a specific length or I.D. the pitot tube is supposed to be. I thought I would use the one supplied for my 801 and make it replaceable. I've never had one broken, but it would be nice to just screw in another one if it did happen.

Haiko Eishler in Colorado got his 801 flying a few months before mine and noticed that the indicated airspeed was unusual. The placement of the opening was a little far aft and it apparently was getting some dirty air off the slats. I made an extension for mine with some thin wall tubing. Mine is about 2 inches in front of the slat and gets clean air and shows very accurate numbers.

Makes sense to me. I'll make sure mine is a little longer.

Thanks Ben
