Quote: | A more practical point: A few years ago United Airplines was considering
building a huge maintenance/overhaul base and to intice them to come to
Colorado the state legislature enacted a law that exempts aircraft parts
from sales taxes. Guess what: A homebuilt experimental aircraft is made

Wow. Funny how life goes. They built that mx facility here in Indy. My
increased property taxes helped offset all the bennies that accrued to UAL.
The UAL / UsAir deal tanked, and UAL pulled out of the Indy mx base. Then,
partly due to that tanked deal, I lost my job. Somehow I still have to pay
the taxes to cover that huge white elephant out at the big airport, AND
I'll get to pay taxes on my little plane. Gotta love government.
Okay, rant mode off, and no, do not archive.
