This was posted on the RV list and is certainly going to  bring Angst to those with nice paint jobs on their aircraft who go to Sun &  Fun.  Wonder if they'll permit you to camp out next to you aircraft  {:>)?

Camping next to plane would be great.  I'll get a big sign and hang  out by the plane more.  Maybe even take the cowl off and explain how a  tractor engine works.

I agree with several of the responders that the  vast majority of the "general public" is courteous and considerate of our pride  and joy airplanes, and I support allowing them an up close and personal  view.  However, it only takes ONE jerk to totally ruin your day.  As a  case in point, several years ago at Sun N'Fun I returned to my plane to see a  mother hoist her 3 year old child up onto the wing whereupon the child began to  do a tap dance in his leather shoes on my $10,000 pearl paint job.  Mother  apparently wanted to take a photo of her child on my plane.  It took every  ounce of my self control to keep from strangling the both of them right then and  there.

  

 Sun N'Fun needs to post large signs all over the  display and parking areas, explaining the rules of etiquette for viewing the  planes, both for the general public and for the occasional AOPA/EAA  "jerk".
