Need feedback and help on a slight problem. Recently picked-up from Zenith factory the newly released FWF package and a Rotax 912S. When following the instructions on mounting the new Ring Mount to the 912S I determined the water pump housing hose nipples for the left side of the engine (from the back) are positioned such that: 1) the mount cannot be reinstalled due to one of the hose nipples hitting one of the structural ring mount brackets, and 2) the other left side hose nipple does not provide for adequate clearance/routing of the connecting hose.
The Heavy Maint manual indicates these hose nipples are held in place with Loctite 648 and the part needs to be heated to 180F in order to remove the hose nipples. I am at a loss on the best way to complete this task. Do I take a small butane torch and heat the area directly around the hose nipple? Do I place the water pump housing in the oven and heat to the desired temp? Do I take the housing and put it in boiling water?
My fear about the torch is somehow warping the housing by the uneven heating.
Anyone have a suggestion, or have they faced a similar problem? Will also send a request to Zenith Tech Support to see what they suggest.
Thanks in advance,
Sam Hutcheson

Sam
I used a heat gun. I think a hair dryer might work if it gets hot enough. It is going to take more than 180F though. I heated the whole fitting up evenly and when I felt the adhesive become pliable, I gently moved it into the needed position using a wooden dowel inside the fitting. let it cool. No problems.

Trick with hairdryer worked great - made slight corrections to hose nipple angles and everything fit OK. Tight fit on hoses, but workable.
Much thanks,
Sam H.
