The "industrial strength" heat gun (resembles a hair dryer) may provide enough heat to do the job.
Possibly you can beg, borrow, steal an infrared temperature sensor (Sears, etc) to check progress.
It has been eight or nine years since I re-positioned one, but I did use the heat gun and just don't recall that it was a big deal.
Bear in mind that when originally installed the Loctite was liquid and the big guy on the wrench was doing the "mechanical" tightening......you'll be working against that AND the Loctite; therefore the need for heat to defeat the glue.
