I have to agree that bigger and faster is nice, but on a 100 mile hamburger trip, the time saving would be about 7 minutes each way, and with the increased fuel consumption plus Avgas vs Mogas, the round trip would cost about $30 more. 

 

Not Knocking anyone's choice of airplane, I've only flown one RV, a 6 and I thought it was a nice, solid flying plane, but noisy. 

 

Looking at the new light RV12, the configuration is a bit Europa-ish.
