I am ready to paint the cockpit and i am wondering why there is no closeout 

panel in the area just below the NACA vents on the fuselage sides, forward 

of the pilot and co pilot seats. Our battery cables and all wiring and air 

lines eminate out of the fuse sides and they are just hanging there.



Anyone that is finished or near completion, why did Van's not put in any 

nutplate holes in the vertical and horizontal cross members in this area. Is 

there no need to closout the area because everything bends up into the upper 

area behind the instrument panel?



What have people been doing in this area??

Contact Abby at Flightline Interiors, she makes great panels to cover

the entire inside of the plane. They come out nice and are affordable.

     I think Van's sells a closout panel for this area in the wiring harness 

kit.  Others can correct me if I'm wrong.

You only get the left side....at least that is all I got.  The directions

say to run the wires up and around on the right side.  For me it does not

matter since I got the interior done by Abbey, but I put the left side panel

in anyway.
