Last year, just about 12 months ago to the week, I
shopped for insurance. I was a 470 hour instrument
rated pilot with a little over 5 hours in make and
model. I shopped for full coverage and paid
$3441 for a hull value of $165,000.
This year I went to renew, with another 200 hours
on the plane (they ask the current time on the engine)
and with 680 approx. hours. All other stats stayed
the same.
My new quote I had done in 3 levels, because I
wanted to up the value a bit.
$165000 = $3228
$170000 = $3308
$175000 = $3389
Those numbers are for comparison if anyone wants them.
I'm glad that it went down. I don't know if that's from
my track record, or the airplane's. It would be nice
if we could continue to see a near perfect track record
of all RV-10's and their pilots.
