Today I taxied my 10 for the first time to do the compass swing. I found the
headroom was almost non-existant. Has this been a problem for anyone else,
and if so, what have you done to correct it. The only thing that comes to
mind is to cut the seat cushion down a bit to sit lower in the seat. That
obviously means less cushioning on the butt which may or may not be an issue
on a long trip.
Apart from that, I must say that the I0-540 with the MT prop is an awsome
combination for smoothness.

I am 6'1" and I have plenty of headroom. The trick is to lay the seat
back about 2 notches. That gets my head in the head relief. If I have
the seat strait up I hit my head as well. Randy

Ted - totally baffled. 6'3" no problem, wearing hat as well and lots of
elbow room to boot.

Almost 6'2", but I can see at least a couple of factors that may be in
play:
1) With the rudder pedals mounted in the forward position, if you're
tall torso'd with stubby little gnome legs, you may find yourself
sitting higher because of the angle of the seat rail ramp. So
unless you're REALLY tall, you may actually find it beneficial to
move the rudder pedals back. A strange recommendation, but it would
all depend on your build.
2) I find that when it's Wisconsin cold out, when I first sit down
my headset hits the top easily and it's tight. But, once the
seats warm up (much helped if you eat chili beforehand), you'll
find you sink down a couple of inches.
3) As Randy said, you may want to tilt the seat back a couple notches.
Other than that, I can't possibly see the -10 being too tight for
most heights up to at least 6'2" and probably even 6'4" or maybe
more.
