Time is a wasting. We need to get the committee for the 2008 CJ-6 50th anniversary up and running. So far I have 2 people for a possible 10 + man committee.
Positions ;
Flight Operations Officer + helper
Special Flight Operation Officer.
Ground Operations Officer + helper
Finance Officer
Public Affairs Officer
Activities and Do-dad Officer + helper
Plus whatever I haven’t thought of + helper.
Every organization has an event in its history that marks and legitimizes its existence. This is that watershed event for our organization. On my “hero wall” in my den are pictures of the first 4 or 5 guys who flew that first time at OSH, when we were just a club. Some have “gone West” and some still make that OSH pilgrimage each year. We’ve seen the numbers grow slowly to a steady 25 to 30 aircraft. To legitimately enter that 50th anniversary category, and “come of age” so to speak, we need to put 50 CJ-6s over that airfield. And we need to plan an event that no self respecting CJ-6 pilot will dare miss. Plus we want our Yak brothers to not want to miss the spectacle either. That will legitimatize us as pilots who made the right choice to buy, fly, and love our machines.
“We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here and
hold their manhood cheap while we speak of this day-“
Shakespeare’s Henry V
Some of the honchos at EAAWB have already let me know they are all for us and awaiting our plans. We have some ideas afoot but only a committee can hash out the realities and either discard them or punch them through.
Give me a call (386-559-1942 cell or 386-467-3313) or e-mail cjpilot710(at)aol.com (cjpilot710(at)aol.com).
I need the help.
