Hey we are all newbies. I have flown a lot of airplanes, big and small, over the years. As far as light aircraft go, I have never seen a better built airplane than the Kolbs. Rans does a nice job, but you cannot fold wings and they tend to run a little more than the Kolbs do. Between Nelson’s artwork in building and Hauck and Williamson’s endurance marathons, I doubt that you will find a more flexible and versatile airplane of any kind. They truly are the new Cubs.

Bob,
Thanks, that is the type of thing I would like to hear. I really don't know the difference in all the planes. I think the folding wings has to be a huge plus. My understanding is that they are a safe plane and I sure like the way they look. I mentioned another brand in another post and got the impression I shouldn't have, but apparently that other brand, which shall remain nameless here, doesn't fly nearly as well. Does it flying better mean that it handles better, flys faster with the same engine, better fuel economy, less maintainence, pick up women better or what. What makes it better than some of the others?
