HI:

I am ready to apply sealing on my Cowling, getting ready for painting. What is the best brand or name, to use.

What is the experience on these products? I see a few at A.C. Spruce and others, but I do not know which to choose.. some are not
cheap at all..

I figure I will need a Gallon? to seal both sections, inside and out? Our cowlings are Fiber Glass?? do not remember the description..

Suggestions appreciated..

Seal the inside with epoxy to make it less porous, then put the hi-temp aluminum tape down near the exhaust.

Evercoat filler work ok on the outside, as well as others. I think Van's suggests epoxy thinned with MEK.

Thanks Larry: But then, is not going to be harder, to sand, later, to apply the paint?

If one leaves the expoxy misture, like that, paint would not adhere no? I know is
very difficult ro sand later on... any comments?

Not sure - it's more epoxy on top of an epoxy cowl. Not sure why sanding difficulty would increase. Assuming you remove blush between applications with water and scotchbright. Is that what you mean? Maybe some one else can confirm.
