This topic thread was discussed on this forum a few years ago.
The biggest difficulty with installing the A-65 on a Kolb is making room
for the underslung oil tank. You'd have to cut away a significant
amount of the original Kolb airframe in the motor mount area to make
room. This includes cutting the primary 2-inch diam root tube (to which
the motor mounts are attached) at the aft end.
The structural integrity of what's left of the frame after you cut away
all that tubing to accommodate the A-65 would likely be compromised.
Plus (as someone else already mentioned), there's the weight issue.
Only 65 hp for an engine weight nearing 190 lbs is not a great trade.
