Is there anyone who is planning on going to the Cloverdale regional fly-in on May 5th?

Dan

I plan to go there. Michael Heintz works out of there. Son of designer.

A very small operation out of the local airport.

I got my kit from there. Probably not worth a 300 mile trip however.

One nice add-on to visiting QSP in Cloverdale is stopping at Dragonfly Aviation in Santa Rosa and getting some flight time in their 601XL. It wouldn't surprise me if Dragonfly was at the open house with their plane. They were for the Jabiru FWF class last fall. Talk to Bob Archibald of Dragonfly before hand and and you may be able to fly out of Cloverdale. I did.

Dan,
The entire Liberty Field Flyers club plans to attend this event in
Cloverdale on May 5th.

The Liberty Field Flyers consist of about 25 UL and LS flyers who currently
fly out of Petaluma Ca. This event has been very good in prior years.
Michael Heintz, who operates Quality Sport Planes, and sponsors the Fly-in,
has been a real help to those of us who build airplanes. He has demos of
aluminum construction set up at the fly-in. We (Liberty Field Flyers club)
run the all-you-can eat BBQ concession ($5).

I know that several Challenger will be at the fly-in. My CHII-LW is one of
them. I have a special interest in going because I am building a Zenith
CH701 STOL plane (Quality Sport is the West Coast US arm of Zenith
Aircraft). Our group has 3 members with CH701 projects or completed planes.
The 701 is a perfect LSA upgrade for a LS Challenger owner like myself who
want a little more speed and a lot more range and carrying capacity, but
still wants very mild stalls in the 30 MPH range and doesn't want to pay to
much.

If you are interested in the Fly-in, see
http://www.qualitysportplanes.com/qsp-2006_067.htm

See you in Cloverdale,
Les

My wife and I plan on driving down from Seattle as an extended weekend getaway.
We've never driven the coast, so we thought it would provide a good opportunity.
Right now it looks like we will be camping out at the local KOA.
We look forward to meeting everyone down there.

I guess I should ask.. Would there be any interest in me bringing down a Dynon Demo panel?

Dan,
I would like to see your Dynon panel. I bought a Dynon unit but have not
installed it yet, so a little demo would be great. I know Quality Sport has
room for your display, but you should check with Michael Heintz to make
certain its OK. You can call Michael at 707 546-6272.
Regards,
Les
