Hi Folks, Just a re-Cap of the BBQ at Sun-N-Fun. To date this was the largest gathering of Zenith builders for a social event ever. I wish to Thank all of you for attending.
I also wish to clarify a couple of issues, at the BBQ one gentleman stated that I should remove the donation jar and look after my customers. Please understand, this is in no way a Zenith or Company sponsored event! Zenith and Can-Zac in no way donate any funds for this BBQ, all I ask from the Zenith guys is that they show up and visit with the builders in a social environment. All funds I donate come from my pocket and never the books of Can-Zac. This event was started by a Zenith builder for all Zenith owners and builders and I wish to keep it that way.
I wish to THANK Jabiru USA, William Wynne, FlightCrafters and Quality Sport Planes for their financial support. I also wish to Thank Cummins Spinners for their donation of a custom made to order spinner with a value of $350.00, also this year I grabbed a few shirts and hats from the Zenith booth to supplement the raffle.

The GRAND prize winner of the Cummins Spinner was Bill Bodin, Bill is a 701 builder who had to make a quick decision as to what engine and prop combination he was going to use for his plane. After a brief discussion, Cummins Spinners is making Bill a new spinner for his Rotax 912 with a warp drive 3 blade prop. Total prize value is about $350.00, Congratulations Bill. Cummins Spinners has voiced their desire to contribute again next year, with a success of this years raffle, you can expect bigger and better things for next year.
The final tally of all donations brought the BBQ $100.00 to the green. However, Rick Roberts ran out and bought two new BBQ's just for the event, the two bbq's trailer and tables we have used for the last two years were no longer available to us. For that reason I have donated the profits of the BBQ and some from myself, to Rick to cover some of the costs he incurred in order to make the event a success with the purchase of the bbqs and the rental of the U-Haul.
This year saw some difficulties in staffing, we lost our two cooks from previous years and we did not have David present to allow me the time necessary to make the final preps. In addition, one other builder I had arranged from California to help out in the cooking was unable to make it to the show. However, we had Rick Roberts wife and Jon's lady friend pitch in and help, I wish to Thank both of these great Ladies for all their help this year, sometimes it is hard just to get our wives to come to an event directed at our interests, to have them pitch in and work really hard is truly a blessing.
I would also like to Thank Jim Hoak and his helpers for the tables and going to extreme efforts to reserve the space necessary to hold the BBQ in the Campground. This I feel is the best place to hold our event, the ambiance is exactly what I enjoy so much about it. With luck we will hol dth eevent at the same location for next year.
I also wish to give Jon Croke and Rick Roberts a pat on the back for their efforts in making sure the event was a success. It is hard work serving over 200 people in a very short period. Both Gents performed flawlessly. Plus, with not having David present this year at the Zenith booth I was unable to take the time off necessary to get the food and make the final arrangements. This job also fell to the wide shoulders of Jon and Rick. We sat for an hour before the show on Wed and then for the next two days Jon and Rick worked to make all the final items fall in place.
The event was not without a couple of hitches that I will improve upon next year, but we did not repeat any of our hitches from last year so progress is made every year we do this.
For all that attended, please share a few words with those who were unable to make it. In addition, if you can please give the helpers a verbal pat on the back, it will go a long way to make them feel the worth of the event.

Lastly, THANK-YOU for Attending, I feel a warmth and joy when we are all able to gather together, I enjoy the company and chance to meet everyone! This BBQ is over now and I have already started planning the Sun-N-Fun BBQ for Thursday April 10 2008 Plan to attend !!!

Mark,
Thanks for the efforts to make this event happen. I'll do my best to provide the same space in the same location in the campground again next year. It takes effort, but I look forward to it. I really enjoyed talking with the other Zenith builders. Thanks again to all who made it happen.

Yahoo wouldn't let the txt through?? My wife and I enjoyed the BBQ very much and plan on pitching in again next year. The grills will have to be strapped under the wings of my 701. (just kidding) They will get there somehow. Thanks to Jon, Jim, CGoose, and the helper ladies.....see you all next year.

Cheers to all the folks who pulled the BBQ together. The food was great and finally meeting some of you face to face was a real pleasure.
