Is someone out there willing to measure the diameter of their "bump" style round cowl? I don't know whether I can fit it over my alternative engine (Corvair). I need the diameter of the front opening and the diameter of the rear where it passes over the engine cover (where it is fastened to the balance of the cowl). I contacted Kitfox directly but they weren't able to provide this info. (I'm sure they have their hands full) Anyone currently have their cowling off who could help? It would be much appreciated. Hate to order one, just to find out that I can't use it. (Builder)

Not sure if this will help as I don't know if different models are all the
same size, but the cowl on my Kitfox 3 project measures aprox 28" diameter
and the front opening is 13 1/2" wide X 15 1/2" high.

Just measured a Mk II and the opening in the front was 13 1/4" and 26" at the back of the cowl. You would only have about 25" usable in the cowling. Others have used the round cowl but had to glass in a couple bumps for the front cylinders.

John heres a picture or two of the glasswork to make a redrive VW fit. It
was bulky looking at first, but looks great on the field now.

Thank you. It's great the assist one can get here. When I belonged to a KR group, all one could get was sarcasm and anger. Thanks again, all who responded. And for the photos, too. Very helpful.
