I think the problem is inherent to the off center  control horn setup. My solution was to run the down elevator cable as slack as I  could to avoid the tightening of the cable with right aileron application. So  far it works ok(85 hours). I didn't install the bungee-just slipped a length of  clear vinyl tubing over one of the cables and let em rub. I will periodically  inspect the cable under the tubing to be sure corrision doesn't  develop.

 Admittedly somewhat shadetree but then that's in  keeping with the offset control horn.
