Hello group ,another peskey question for you scratch builders . The plans call for .016 material for part# 6-B-21-6 ,has anyone used a thicker material for this .I tried a piece of .025 ,but it not want to take the shape around the last bulkhead . After seeing some published weights of the completed 601XLs I may want to stay within what the plans call for. I was expecting a total empty weight of around 700# . Thanks       Wade Jones South Texas

Hi Wade,
I'd recommend you use .025 on the panels that you'll put your hands to
board the plane, front top skin, rear top skin and use .020 on further
back if .025 is a problem. .016 will dent and deform when you least
need that kind of problem, especially top surfaces.
