I had reported a engine stumble during the mag check a couple of weeks ago.
My distributor caps were loose. I filed .010" off the retainers to tighten
them up. Since that time, have made multiple flights and no more stumble
issues. Others have reported the distributor caps loosening over time. If
you develop a stumble during mag check, suggest you look for loose
distributor caps.

Clear Skies!

Chuck, another aid to the loose distributor issue is to use varying length plastic ties to hold the caps down. The technique is to place a long, large tie around the neck sort of loose then use ties to strap over the cap to the neck loop. Once everything is in place and snug then tighten the neck tie. Seems to work after 114 hours no loose caps or any stumble. As a side issue, a mag stumble or miss can also be fowling plugs or plug wire failure if your trouble shooting. Best regards, Bill of Georgia
