Fellow builders,
while self confidently fitting the nose skin to my left HDS wing, I managed to slip off and create two huge "smilys" (about the size of a palm ). Both are located prominently between S6 and S7 in the upper curve of the D section.
...both not very deep (approx. 0.5mm) but clearly visible.
This also dented my builders pride heavily, of course
I now have 2 Questions to the snickering audience:
1. is there any way of removing those dents other than to shred the nose skin? I'd hate to remove it since the belly of the wing is already riveted in place
2. Are these just cosmetic imperfections or do they present some sort of structural problem.
any advice appreciated...
cheers from Germany
Peter

Just two? I had three. If you don't plan on polishing the wing its not much of a problem. I filled mine with Super-fill from ACS. After sanding and priming you can't even find them. ZAC gave their blessing on this.

Hi Peter,
I dinged my nose skin during the bending process and thought it was lost
too, but found that with a little
back block and tapping, the substantial ding was mostly removed. Ended
up with a little primer filler
and paint and it disappeared 3 years later. Think if you use a light
filler and primer, you'll do fine. It's
not a structural problem.

Peter-
Even if you do polish, you can still get by with some strategically positioned painted trim!
