I am still working on 601HD/Corvair project and would like to know what type of tubing is being used from the carb to the intake manifold, e.g., aluminium, thin-wall steel, or thin-wall stainless. I had Burns Stainless 6061 U-bends welded to the heads (1/2 bend to each head). WW sells nice thin-wall stainless intakes but I want to research my own setup. Specs and suppliers for intake manifolds would be appreciated.
Regards,

From Flycorvair.com

Stainless Steel Intakes
These Intake Manifolds are fabricated from CNC bent 1.5" very thin wall stainless. The carb flanges and mounting hardware are also stainless, and are easily polished to a chrome like finish. These intakes are designed to mate with our low profile welded on aluminum intake pipes on the heads. Both Falcon and our shop have jigs to weld the pipes on your heads to mate with these manifolds. If you're planning on welding the aluminum pipes to your heads yourself, the Intake Manifold can be used as an alignment jig to get the pipes on the correct place on the heads. Our Intake Manifold is available in two versions: one with a vertical carb mounting for builders using MA3 and Stromberg carburetors, the other with the carb flange canted 13 degrees forward to install an Ellison or Aero-Carb. All manifolds have the provisions for a primer or MAP port.
The $269 price includes shipping in the U.S. International S&H, including Canada, will be billed separately. I accept payment by check or money order in U.S. dollars payable to William Wynne, 5000-18 HWY 17 #247, Orange Park, FL 32003, or credit cards via PayPal by clicking below:

Has anyone who ordered these in the last nine months received them yet? Just
curious as to how far back in line I might be.

Do not archive.

I made my intakes from aluminum intake tubing (It's been awhile but I think I this from Summit racing). I bought mandrel bends of the needed dimensions and welded them to form the manifold. I don't think I'd use this material again, and may remake them. I found welding the aluminum pipe to be a challenge, and would likely make a better set welding them from thin walled stainless tubing.
