Hello, folks. Been a while since I was on the list. I have been building a
S5 since '95. Took an 8 year break. Anyway, looking to see if some of the
things that were available years ago are still around.
I am looking for the streamlining material for the tail brace and strut
brace. I think they came out with something around '98-'99 that was like
the PVC lift strut material. Also a wing tip landing light(more of a rec
light) kit. And I think someone came up with a speed controller to slow
down the trim motor to run at 1/2 speed. And any feedback on how did/does
that work? Thanks.

It's been a few years, but when I did my Model IV I bought
streamlined chromoly tubing from Aircraft Spruce and Murle Williams
welded it up to make a set of horizontal stabilizer struts for me.
Murle may also have the trim motor "pulser" you are asking about.
Check out his web site <http://MurleWilliamsAviation.com> or give him
a call at 602-978-0553.
As for how they work, the ones I am familiar with turn the power on
and off to the motor in very quick pulses, which has the effect of
slowing down the trim movement.

I am interested in the PVC type stuff for the lift struts if you have any info.

We have new lift strut fairing material and horizontal lift struts
fairings... Give us a shout... Half speed on the trim motor can be a safety
issue for go-arounds.. Using a high/low switch may be a better choice...

Debra told me you were arranging for some new type of strut fairing a while
back. What have you come up with, can it be shipped shorter than full
length, I've become a little gun shy of shipping charges.
