I will be attending the Arlington fly in again this year and am looking forward to meeting any other attendees from this forum. I will be found in outdoor both #23 (Yakima Aerosports) but will be able to get loose more as I am not the primary person in the booth this year. As usual I'll keep the coffee on for all to share.

I will also be attending Arlington as well this year. I will be camping
along the flight line with the EAA 1410 group. I think there will be about
5 trailers/tents. May see you there as we will be there from thursday thru
till saturday. We will look you up.

I hope to be there too. I think I'll drive over. Arlington is just inside my phase one 100 nm test area but I'm not too excited about flying over the mountains with my little 503 yet.

I can understand that. But if you change your mind, if the weather cooperates, you fly right over the highway all the way there.

I will be driving to the fly-in on Friday with a group of the Spokane EAA Chapter 79. We have 4 adjacent campsites reserved somewhere so I can be located that way. I look forward to meeting some of you there. It sounds like we should have a fair representation attending the airshow. Maybe we should arrange a time and place to all get together - at the Kitfox display booth perhaps, maybe noon Saturday?

For those thinking of flying into arlington, make sure and go to the site for arlington and download the Notam for such. some very good read there, make sure and click on the flying in, on the left side. http://www.nweaa.org/ ,

and if you want a direct link, http://www.nweaa.org/notam/notam2007.pdf,

this one is very cool, this is for a friday and saturday arrival, http://www.nweaa.org/notam/2007-AWO-NOTAM-Fri-Sat.pdf

If you are planing on flying from the east, make sure you follow the weather all the way up to the hour before you cross over the mountains. I will tell you that there is always fog in the morning, so crossing in the early morning will probably NOT be possible. You may be sitting at ellensburg until it clears, and if it doesn't, a flight south to Vancouver wa. may have to be in your plans with a straight flight north following I-5 with a jocky to the east to go through class b on the outer edge will be in order.

You can also fly VFR over the clouds to make it over Snoquami pass, the pass is around 3500ft agl, if you go down to white pass that is around 5500 ft. that one is just west of Yakama, wa. There is stevens pass, that one is around 5500ft as well, that is to the north and runs hiway 2.

When doing this trip, I'll have a stack of routes that are about 1/2 inch thick. I have current charts and two gps. I'll run the GPS and the wife follows our progress on the chart. I always run over the top of one of the freeways and have all landing fields plotted with radio freqs and conditions in case a landing is needed.

If flying, have fun and make sure you have all kinds of possibilities planed out.

Hi Kitfoxers,
This is another shameless plug for the WSPA / NWEAA Splash-In held concurrently with the Arlington Airshow. Anyone on floats is encouraged to fly in. Please check nweaa.org and follow the splash-in link for additional information.
Floats or wheels, plan to attend the Bratwurst dinner at Lake Goodwin Resort on Friday the 13th at 6:30 PM. Tickets are only $7.50 per person for an evening of good food, great company and a gaggle of float planes. Contact me directly to reserve tickets as a limited number are available. A shuttle will be operating continuously between the main gate at Arlington and the splash-in. I look forward to meeting all you Kitfox fans.

I want to put in a plug for arlington. If you never flew in, you should. If you can't fly in, then you have to camp there. After the show closes at night is when everything comes alive, really. It's way cool with the baloon burns, movies, and of course the fire works display done with an aircraft. If your just there for the day, you miss out, if you stay at a motel and leave when the gates close, you miss out.

Here are a couple of teaser photos from last year's splash-in at Arlington. Early in the week there were three planes on moorings and the volunteer staff is keeping an eye on things from the party boat.

Great to hear from you Sgt. Westberg! Feel free to jump into the topics whenever the urge strikes you, whether for a question or a contribution. When you get finished sorting things out over there come home safe and get back to work on that Fox!

Add another thanks from me too SGT.

Best 2 ranks in the service are SGT and Captain. Only
people who know what is going on AND can do something
about it.

Renewed my ID card Monday and reread the "subject to
recall" statement on my DD-214. I would go there in
an instant to be amoungs the best people in the world,
but would make the news for a different reason.

Immediate heat exhaustion getting off the plane with
my bags!

You guys ROCK! These days I roll....
