I think there might be a misconception about the 40108 Facet fuel pump. The 40108 Facet pump does NOT have a check valve in it. See the specs on their web site:

I am using two of them...one on each wing tank. If I start with an empty tank on the left hand side...and run the right fuel pump, it pumps fuel into the left tank. I'm not sure if this is a problem or not. It seems to supply the carburetor (MA3-SPA) just fine...but it also transfers fuel to the other tank. Has anyone else noted this? I'm wondering if the 40147 or 40148 might work as well, or better. Does anyone know of another supplier, besides Aircraft Spruce?

I'm using a 40106 fuel pump (4.5 - 6 PSI, don't know about internal check valve) in each wing root with a check valve downstream next to it ( same MA3-SPA carb). The check valve prevents the possibility of fuel transfer from tank to tank and with two fuel pumps there is redundancy in the system. At this time I simply have a DPDT switch which controls both the power to one tank or the other and at the same time controls which fuel sender is read by the gauge. I plan to add a separate switch to be able to run both pumps at once during critical times. I will have a different circuit for this second switch right from the battery and use 2 diodes to prevent feed back between the two circuits. This will give complete redundancy in all things but the battery. Even that would be possible with a second battery and diode arraignment.
My local auto supply caries Facet pumps but higher price than Wicks or ACS.

Dave, I'm confused. Do you not have a fuel valve between the tanks?
I would think you fuel system would look like this.
Left Tank Right Tank
Pump Pump
Fuel Selector
Gasolator
Carb or Pumb then Carb
How is fuel going back through the fuel selctor?
