FOND DU LAC, Wis. - An Ohio man flying a World War II-era plane made an emergency landing on a Wisconsin highway after experiencing engine trouble, snarling traffic for hours as authorities worked to move the aircraft.
No injuries were reported after the plane landed on U.S. Highway 41 near Fond du Lac County Airport about 7:45 p.m. Sunday, authorities said.

William J. Leff, of Dayton, was flying a 1946 North American T-6G plane with his son to the Experimental Aircraft Association's AirVenture show in Oshkosh when the engine problems arose, the Wisconsin State Patrol said in a statement.
The plane touched down momentarily and regained altitude, banking briefly before landing and coming to a stop in the northbound lanes, the statement said.
The right wing was damaged after it hit several highway signs.
The highway was closed for hours in both directions until authorities managed to move the plane to the nearby airport.
