I just saw some interesting things in terms of glass cockpits. The first is
called the Aspen Avionics EFIS. These have the entire unit within a
standard sized instrument round hole, but takes up more panel space than
just the hole. Still, pretty impressive looking and relatively inexpensive
for the size and functionality.

Also, Cessna has shown it's new avionics suite designed specifically for the
new Cessna 162 Skycatcher, the Garmin G300. I'm not for certain, but would
imagine that after some time that Garmin will release a sub $5000
experimental G300.
I'm just truly amazed at the technology that is going into light sport and
experimental aircraft. It used to be that a glass cockpit would cost
$50,000 alone, but now a fully functional $10k range can be had. Just
wanted to share that with you all. Brian W.
