Empty weight with ballistic chute is 598lbs (272kg), not to bad, because the chute weights about 20lbs.

I was so impressed with the looks of your finished product that I failed to ask you about the finished weight.  I'm very interested in seeing how your plane performs with the Jabiru engine.  I have a Model IV 1200 with a Subaru EA81 engine.  The engine is simply too heavy for this plane.  Please keep us posted of your performance numbers.
