The original builder of my Model IV built with the open portion of the trailng edge showing toward the bottom of the wing. That is with the "lip" aiming down toward the bottom. He installed the fabric around the edge and the lip and trimmed at the end of the lip as shown in figure FAB 1-2 on page 1-2 of the FABRIC portion of the 1991 manual.
The manual itself on other pages seems to indicate the lip should point toward the top side of the wing, but is not clear. The newer manual dated 2003 is quite clear that these pieces should be installed with the lip pointing up. I can install them either way with a little trimming, or replace them entirely. I'm just curious if the design changed, or if I'm not reading the instructions properly, or even if it really matters so much. It looks like there would be a slight advantage to aiming the lip down as the drain hole could then be placed at the extreme rear.
Anyone have any experience either way?

My manual on my 94 model 4 shows the lip up. Moisture will collect the then run down to the drain holes. -- Leon Morris/Classic 4/50%/Flower Mound,TX

Trailing edge.
I recall the trailing edge lip in the manual, showing it down. It seemed a bit confusing as another view later in the manual showed the lip up. I determined that the first drawing was upside down and the lip should be up.
