My name is Bob Kibby and I fly a Discus-2T sailplane out of Texas Soaring Association airfield south of Midlothian, Tx. Is there anyone in the Dallas-Ft Worth area that has a Lighting? I am 6'5" tall and need to do a fit check. My sitting height is 37 1/2". Thanks!

Hi Bob:
I feel your pain and I almost did not buy a Lightning because of my height. I am a little over 6’-2”, but my torso is very long and my legs are short. There is plenty of leg room; I was worried about my sitting height as I am 37” when sitting. I would say that you will fit, but you need to use a thinner seat cushion. If not, you will be leaning your head to the side.
I sat in the demonstrator and was fine. I would get a cheap ticket in to Nashville and try it on for yourself. That’s the best way to know for sure. If you fit, you will LOVE the airplane!
